Quarantined Theater!!

Quarantine has made it hard to do many things from home and everyone is getting restless and bored. But we are lucky to be in a day and age when it is reasonably easy to perform day-to-day activities from home. In theater, there are many interesting things to do from home! Here are my top 5 ways to to further our theatrical knowledge in quarantine:

1) Celebrate Shakespeare's Birthday!! His birthday is said to be April 23 and we should celebrate! Make a short video with a Shakespearan monlogue, take a theme picture or write a sonnet and post it on any social media with the hashtag #ShareYourShakespeare. All the details are on the website https://www.folger.edu/shakespeare-birthday-party-at-home.

2) Voiceover acting! Many companies are offering voiceover jobs in quarantine. All you have to do is record yourself reading a script and send it to them! Read my post on Voiceover Acting Tips (https://vivekasinha.wixsite.com/theater/post/voiceover-acting-tips) for more information!

3) Take an online theater class! Here are some great places to do that:

4) Take a course on Coursera! https://www.coursera.org/search?query=theatre - Coursera offers some of the best online theater courses and they're really fun and educational! And the best part? They're completely free!

5) And lastly, read theater blogs! On my blog, I enthuse about Shakespeare, give tips about different varieties of performing arts, and share my experience in my plays. And I do my best to make everything interesting and educational. There's so many cool blogs to check out! Don't miss out!

Although quarantine doesn't seem the best, it could actually be a blessing in disguise. We have a lot of time to further our knowledge and interests and have fun while doing it! Don't waste this time!
